On behalf of Comet School community – staff, students and parents, I would like to welcome you to our website and school community.
Our Comet State School motto is to “AIM HIGH” and to personalise each child’s development and enjoyment of learning in an inclusive, safe and supportive environment.
Our community believes in the education of the ‘whole child’ in order to build solid academic, social and emotional foundations for our young students to confidently stake their place in an ever changing world. We consistently promote respectful, responsible, safe and active learning. Our vision is to support each student to reach their maximum potential, academically, socially and emotionally and become productive members of the community and society.
Comet State School enjoys a high standard of student behaviour, creating fun and safe playground environments and allowing effective teaching to occur in the classrooms.
The teachers of Comet State School are committed to delivering contemporary curriculum through challenging and rigorous learning opportunities that meet the instructional needs of all children. Comet State School values the success of individuals, celebrates diversity and recognises the importance of strong parent and community partnerships.
We encourage parents, carers and the wider community to actively participate in the work of our school. And importantly, we acknowledge and support the vital role that parents play as partners in their children’s learning.
We are honoured that parents choose our school to educate their children. It is an act of faith and trust in the work that we do as a whole staff. Teachers affect children’s lives and as a profession we have the power to create great good for both individuals and society.
This website outlines some of the policies and procedures of our school. For additional information I encourage you to make an appointment to meet with a member of our administration team.
Yours in quality education
Bev Oldfield
