Situated in Central Queensland, Comet State School is a small rural school, well equipped with up-to-date and modern facilities which provides it's students with a positive and supportive environment, entrenched in local history and culture.
Comet State School acknowledges the
Ghungalu country on which we are respectful, responsible and safe to the land that we stand, live, learn, play, and are educated on. We acknowledge the importance of connection to land, culture, spirituality, ancestry, family and community for the wellbeing of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and future leaders.
The attractive grounds of Comet State School are located in the small township of Comet, approximately halfway between Emerald and Blackwater. The community itself is comprised primarily of cattle and cropping properties with many of our students living on properties in the surrounding region. Other students live in the town Comet itself or surrounding areas such as Blackwater or Yamala.
